Who is Jesus?
The Son of God

His early disciples asked the question, “What sort of man is this that the winds obey and sea obey Him?”

The Bible tells us that Jesus is “the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.” (Colossians 1:1) That means, the God who otherwise be unreachable and seemingly unknowable came in human flesh so we may know Him. It must have been interesting to see and hear how people during Jesus days did and say when Jesus lived in ancient Israel– talking, preaching, arguing, healing. A lot of people, especially ones who were deeply religious doubted and challenged everything Jesus said. The same is specially true today. Many people still can’t embrace the claims Jesus made 2000 years ago.

But those who encountered Jesus first-hand, marveled at what He was able to do.  Jesus calmed the storm in Matthew 8:27 and the disciples said “what sort of man is this, which even the winds and the sea obey him?” That comment made its way through 2000 years of human history through four different writers conveying the story. Truth is, he is more than just a man, he is the Son of God.

The Savior of the World. He did not come to start a religion, he came to introduce people to the God who loves all of us. It is only through Jesus that we can truly have a personal relationship with God. He lived a perfect only to die on the cross and to rise from the grave– to set us free from the penalty and foolishness of sin. He came for that very specific purpose. Romans 5:6-10 says,

When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. 11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

Jesus was incomparable. Jesus is incomparable. No public figure can compare to the power of His life and the impact of His teaching.

The Savior for You.

But the more important question now is, who is Jesus to YOU? Jesus himself said,
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).
Those who receive Him receive the life He promises. Do you want to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
It’s simple. Pray this simple prayer:

Lord Jesus, I’m praying this prayer because I know now that I need you. I have done wrong. Please forgive me of all the things I have done wrong in the past. I believe that you died on the cross to pray for my sins and that you rose from the grave to give me freedom. I now receive you as Lord and Savior of my life and keep me focused on the plans you have for me. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that You are, now and forever, the Lord over my life. Thank you for saving me. Thank you that I am now a Christian. Amen
