HEART FOR THE CITY / HEART OF THE CITY
Background
At the end of the 2023, as people began returning to normalcy after the pandemic, we have been given the opportunity to partner with and rent the premier auditorium in the city, the Vic Juba Community Theatre. Since our move to the Vic, we have seen a lot of growth in our Sunday morning worship. While we have enough space for further growth at the Vic on Sundays, we began to feel the need for space for weekday and evening activities like youth and young adults, meetings, discipleship classes, adult and kids ministries, etc.. Our growing groups often met in homes, and sometimes, spaces like cafes. All of which are quite confined and limiting.

In April 2025, Pastor Jon shared a vision and idea of praying for a particular building in the very heart of our city (on the corner of 50 Street and 50th Avenue) to become a ministry hub for our church ministries and events! Several individuals and families responded to the idea and gave to that cause.
The Building

The building at the corner of 50th Street and 50th Avenue is at the very heart of our downtown!
It has been on the market for over a year, at $350,000.
Our Leadership Team led by our Pastor Jon, decided to move forward and make an offer of $300,000. The offer was accepted!
Here’s the Faith Challenge: To raise $50,000 in 50 Days!
This first phase of the fundraiser is aimed at putting in a higher down payment to help decrease our monthly payments.
Overall, the faith goal is to raise$300,000 (or more) by April.
This help pay off, renovate and furnish the place to suit our ministry needs.
What we envision!
A ministry hub in the heart of the city would be a huge blessing to have for our growing church and the community at large!
While we intend to hold Sunday worship at the Vic Juba Theatre, the new building will provide us
with weekday and weeknight ministry space for,
1) disciple-making and disciple-building activities,
2) small to medium size life-cycle events,
3) worship, Bible/theology classes and prayer gatherings for under 100 people!
4) music and arts teams rehearsals;
5) a place to simply hang out and be built up in the faith!
